MIPCOM 2012, Cannes, October 5th 2012. Canadian company Sardine Productions and French producer Cyber Group Studios are pleased to announce the production launch of MIA, a new pre-school series in association with Société Radio-Canada and TIJI in France. With Malaysian partner SpaceToon the Mia brand by Kutoka Interactive is in very good hands and set for a multi-screen launch in 2014.
In the series (39 x 11 minutes), Mia gets excited about anything! She’s six now! It’s the perfect age to develop an awareness of others and understand how we affect them.
“Mia is unique in that she is moving from computer to television screen while remaining true to what has made her so successful.” says Lisa Savard of Radio-Canada. “We are proud to have been part of this project from the onset of development to full production.”
“TiJi was charmed by the series’ unique take on growing up: as Mia discovers her world, she begins to see she is not always at the center of it. We are thrilled to have new partners in Sardine Productions and Radio-Canada and happy the team includes Cyber Group Studios, a long standing partner of TiJi.” says Caroline Adelus, Head of Programming at TiJi.
“A project like MIA effortlessly brings the production and broadcast partners together around a common vision.” says Ghislain Cyr, President of Sardine Productions. “We are pleased to launch MIA as our new pre-school initiative, following on the heels of “Manon” (52 x 7’), “Tales of Tatonka” (52 x 13’) and “Zou” (52 x 11’) that have all enjoyed world-wide success.” adds Pierre Sissmann, President of Cyber Group Studios.
